GET YOUR PASSIVE SKILLS TO 5
seriously do it, get your CPU and PG maxed, your armor and your shields.
get your 5%stam/regen/sprint speed
get your 25%!!!!!!!!!!!!! hacking bonus
get your passive scanning so heavys will no longer sneak up on you (their one true weakness is that if you max your passive scans you will see them coming a mile away)
get all those skills that improve every dropsuit you will ever use. and just make everything about your suits better.
THEN if you have enough left over, get a proto suit. |

Christiphoros von Poe wrote:What is the estimated total amount of SP to max those all out?
its just over 10mil SP for the passives (not including module skills like shield extenders and plates) |

Cody Sietz wrote:But I have those maxed out.
The only skills I don't have points in are the shield modules ones and that's cause I don't really use extenders, energizer or regulators. They maybe have 1-3 for them.
your going to want shield extenders in 1.8, trust me |

Iron Wolf Saber wrote:We call these skills core because they effect all suits; hacking for example does not effect performance of the modules only the base suit which then the modules are based off of. Another group of skills like this are the sensor skills under dropsuit electronics.
hacking makes it so you get shoot in the back while hacking alot less.
and the core scanning skills make it so your not so surprized that there was some guy camping that corner you were about the run around :P
both prevent unnessesary deaths :P and by extension save isk.
GET THEM FOLKS even if you dont plan on using the mods associated with em they make every suit you run better. |

apparently hacking is grosely underestimated
the reason its a 5x skill is becuase of how many advantages it gives you, its one of the most important skills. |

AND level 5 gives you the complex hacking modules, wich are essential for stealing cities from nyian san :P poor guys diddnt see me and my kamikaze dropship coming :P
slamming a dropship into an objective so it blocks LOS while wearing a 4x complex hack mod suit is downright hilarious and has givin my team a win in PC a few times now. |

To me its the same with CPU and PG If you get to Lv 3 and you can fit what you like to boss on the field then go ahead and improve your other stuff to fit your playstyle -whether that is range or dampening or weapon proficiency. I hope new players dont just grind CPU and PG first instead of enjoying the game and trying out some weapons and nailing down a playstyle.
new players arnt the ones getting massive amounts of SP back from the DScommand refund :P
its those middleground players who have been here a while and spent their points all willy nilly trying to figure out their playstyle thats im specifically talking to, and vets who may not have polished up those 5s yet. |

There is no real change whatsoever (it must be bugged or something cause it doesn't work). In short, do not, I repeat, DO NOT waste any SP on Systems Hacking. Worst. Skill. Ever.
tell that to my 2.somethingsomething second hack speed compaired to your 10 second hack speed
tell that to my 8ish second counterhack speed, vs your 20 second counterhack speed :P |

Ever. tell that to my 2.somethingsomething second hack speed compaired to your 10 second hack speed tell that to my 8ish second counterhack speed, vs your 20 second counterhack speed :P Well, you must have DevHax or something because everyone I play with that has spent SP on Systems Hacking has agreed that it is a complete waste of time and SP.
right now my hacking speed is
1.78 seconds to hack (minlogi with 4x complex hack mods
and 3.55 seconds to counterhack.....
i went and did the math and its disgusting
thats in my PC hack suit though.
JUST hacking level 5 and no other modules or bonuses brings your hacking speed down to 7.5 seconds saving you 2.5 seconds of time.
and coutnerhacking is reduced to 15 seconds saving you 5 seconds of time...
thats time spent not vulnerable to being shot in the back

Agreed - I see this but the OP quickly moved into this line of thinking this is the best way to go. Newer players may see this and try to go that route when in fact the grind for little reward may put them off the game. Look how many can run cheap suits well because they have good gun game or are smart - how does CPU/PG help them on the field? Thats the only perspective I wanted to show.
cpu and PG help them build a better basic suit (or ADV suit)
right now 99% of my time is spent in ADV gear, and while im an oddball for having 5mil SP spent on JUST combat rifles i can do amazing things in any races basic suit with any other weapon that i only have a single point into JUST becuase of my maxed passives, that CPU and PG really make the difference between me and some dude pretending hes a proto stomper but doesnt have the fitting skills to fit it out any better then my ADV suit.
fitting skills turn adv suits into proto suits without all that additional isk cost.
and unless your on a PC team its best to wait untill you have at LEAST level 4 in all your fittings to go to proto,
having level 4 in the passive suit skill is good enough |

DozersMouse XIII wrote:I somewhat disagree with the pg/cpu upgrading off the bat
these skills you can train as your suit equipment/weapons progress
it makes no sense to have a buttload of cpu/pg if you dont have the the crap to fill it
my suggestion would go to profittings site and play around a bit
as for the other passive skills I agree 100%
my threads not about skills off the bat :P
its about your refund and event SP |
